RASK Travel

Bariloche and Mendoza contain two of Argentina’s most enjoyable assets – wine and chocolate! This is why RASK Travel recommend you take a break from tango dancing in fast-moving Buenos Aires to pamper yourself in these two delightful towns close to the Andean mountain range.

As always, your own itinerary will be individually designed especially for you. We also recommend adding a trip to these two Argentine destinations with visits to Buenos Aires, Iguazú Falls and Chilean Patagonia – something which your RASK Travel Consultant will be happy to arrange for you.

Day 1: Arrival to BARILOCHE

Meet & greet your local guide at the airport of Bariloche and transfer to your fabulous hotel with its incredible views of lakes, forests and mountains.

In the afternoon, enjoy a Soft hike in the surrounding Mount Llao Llao, for amazing views of the Nahuel Huapi and Moreno Lakes, combined with tastings of beer and chocolate – all produced by local artisan brewers and chocolatiers.

Day 2: BARILOCHE – Full Day hiking & Condor watching

An expert guide will collect you from your hotel in the early hours of the morning in a private 4×4 vehicle, that will travel 1 hour and 40 minutes on adventurous roads up to the picturesque Laguna Los Juncos surrounded by rocky formations that form countless unusual figures.

Afterwards we will continue walking until reaching the Condor rookery, arriving to the highest point where a three-step exclusive lunch will be prepared by our local chef.

Leisurely we return in the afternoon to the hotel where you can pamper yourself with a spa treatment or simply relax with a good book by the pool.

A private transfer will take you to Bariloche Airport for your flight to Mendoza – around 1000 km north. Your RASK Travel Consultant can request a window seat on the left of the plane for you so that, if the weather permits, you can look down at the breathtaking Andes mountain range from your seat.

Once you arrive at the airport of Mendoza, your local guide will transfer you to your hotel located in the Central Valley. Spend your first evening in Mendoza relaxing in this blissful town. Should you wish, we can arrange a traditional Argentine ‘asado’ grill for your dinner.

Day 4: MENDOZA – Full Day winery visit

Enjoy a full day wine tour in Lujan de Cuyo Wine Valley. We will visit three superb wineries in the Lujan district, and enjoy lunch in one of them, tasting premium wines with the Andes as our dramatic backdrop. The Lujan district is home to the delicious Malbec wine – which pairs perfectly with Argentine red meats.

We return to the hotel in the afternoon where you have the remainder of the day to relax on the terrace with a bottle of local wine, explore the town or partake in something more adventurous, such as cycling through vineyards, horseback riding, hot air ballooning or mountain trekking.

Day 5: MENDOZA – Full day trekking to the base of the Aconcagua

In the morning, we will begin a scenic circuit along the Andes. We will begin by heading towards Potrerillos. After crossing the Andes pre-range area, we will arrive to Uspallata, which is located among streams where we will find the “vaults” – ruins of curious buildings with cupola-shaped roofs dating back to the 18th Century. We will continue our journey to find some important historical sites, where crucial battles took place during Argentina’s quest for independence from the Spanish Empire.

We will arrive at Penitentes Ski Center, where off-season, we will appreciate the fabulous rock formations shaped on the mountains. Puente del Inca will surprise us next, as it is an extraordinary geologically formed bridge with thermal waters, over Las Cuevas River. We will continue our journey towards Aconcagua Provincial Park, a reserve of 75 thousand hectare. From Los Horcones Lagoon, we will have an awe-inspiring view of Mount Aconcagua – the highest mountain in the Americas, with 6,962 meters above sea level.

Return to the Hotel in the afternoon, where you can enjoy a well deserved spa treatment before dinner.

Day 6: MENDOZA – Uco Valley winery visit

Today we will visit three premium wineries in the Uco Valley, enjoying lunch at one of them, paired with fine wines. Uco Valley is a unique spot in the geography of the province, at 1200 meters above sea level. Known as the house of Cordón del Plata (Silver Mountain Range) it shelters prestigious wineries with worldwide reputations. Its wineries have been blessed by good weather and optimum altitude – both excellent conditions to produce good wine.

Day 7: Departure Day

After breakfast in your hotel you will be taken to Mendoza Airport for your onward flight to your next destination.
