Few destinations have captured the imagination of luxury travellers quite like Colombia in recent years, and Cartagena sits firmly at the centre of that story.

Occupying a collection of beautifully restored historic buildings overlooking Cartagena’s waterfront, the new Four Seasons Hotel & Residences Cartagena brings one of the world’s most trusted luxury brands to one of Latin America’s most atmospheric cities. The project has been years in the making, carefully transforming several heritage landmarks into a hotel that feels deeply connected to the city.

For those yet to visit, Cartagena has a habit of exceeding expectations. Beyond the colourful facades and bougainvillea-draped streets of the Old Town lies an extraordinary mix of Caribbean culture, world-class dining, vibrant nightlife, and easy access to Colombia’s island-speckled coastline. It’s a city that rewards wandering, whether that’s discovering hidden courtyards, lingering over long lunches, or exploring centuries of history within its UNESCO-listed walls.

Guests can easily spend a day exploring the Rosario Islands, a beautiful archipelago of white-sand cays, coral reefs, and crystal-clear waters just off the coast. Four Seasons Resort & Residences Puerto Rico – Opened November 2025

When Four Seasons announced it would be taking over the former St. Regis Bahía Beach Resort, it immediately became one of the Caribbean openings we were watching most closely.

The setting was never in question. Tucked between the coastline and the lush landscapes of north-eastern Puerto Rico, the resort occupies one of the island’s most privileged stretches of land, with rainforest, beaches, wetlands, and nature reserves all on its doorstep. What Four Seasons has done is bring its signature service, refreshed accommodations, and a renewed sense of energy to a property that was already considered one of the Caribbean’s standout resorts.

Guests can divide their time between the resort’s beaches, spa, racquet courts, and Robert Trent Jones Jr-designed golf course, or venture further afield into El Yunque National Forest, where waterfalls, hiking trails, and some of Puerto Rico’s most spectacular scenery await. There’s also a strong focus on conservation, with opportunities to learn more about the ecosystems that surround the resort, from birdlife and coastal habitats to ongoing turtle protection efforts.

For travellers looking for more than a traditional Caribbean beach holiday, this is a compelling alternative – combining nature, adventure, culture, and one of the strongest resort settings in the region.

Four Seasons Resort Naples Beach Club, Florida – Opened November 2025

Naples, Florida, has long attracted a loyal following. Less flashy than Miami and more understated than Palm Beach, it has built its reputation on beautiful beaches, excellent golf, and an affluent lifestyle that feels distinctly Gulf Coast.

The new Four Seasons Naples Beach Club is remarkably well suited to its surroundings. Built on the site of the former Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, the resort pays subtle homage to the property’s history while bringing a fresh energy to one of Florida’s most established coastal destinations. The design draws inspiration from classic Old Florida beach houses, with light-filled interiors, expansive terraces, and a relaxed elegance that never feels forced.

What stands out most, however, is the atmosphere. This isn’t a resort that feels disconnected from the community around it. Locals still gather for sunset drinks, residents book tables for dinner, and guests naturally drift between the beach, Old Naples, and the hotel’s restaurants throughout the day.

As evening arrives, attention inevitably turns west towards the Gulf. The Sunset Bar remains one of Naples’ favourite gathering spots, where the daily ritual of watching the sun disappear below the horizon continues much as it always has. Some traditions are worth keeping.

Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita – Reopened November 2025

Following a seven-month refurbishment, Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita has quietly reinvented itself. The changes are immediately noticeable – brighter interiors, refreshed restaurants, reimagined villas, and a revamped spa – but the resort’s greatest strengths remain unchanged: space, privacy, and one of the most beautiful settings on the island.

Unlike many luxury resorts in Mauritius, this is an entirely villa-based retreat, with every guest enjoying their own plunge pool, generous outdoor living space, and a sense of seclusion that feels increasingly rare. The redesign, led by 1508 London, has replaced darker tones with a softer, more contemporary palette inspired by the colours and light of the island itself.

The resort has long been a favourite with golfers, thanks to complimentary access to both the Anahita Golf Course and the spectacular Île aux Cerfs Golf Club, reached by boat across the lagoon. Beyond the fairways, guests can spend their days cycling the estate, exploring the coastline, or lingering over a rum tasting as the sun sets over the mangroves.

This isn’t a resort that has tried to become something entirely different. Instead, Four Seasons has refined what made Anahita so appealing in the first place, ensuring it remains one of Mauritius’ most enduring luxury addresses.

Which New Four Seasons Hotels Are Opening Soon?

Four Seasons Resort Mykonos, Greece – Opening June 2026

We’ve lost count of the number of Mykonos itineraries we’ve planned over the years, but one thing has definitely changed. Increasingly, clients are looking for a different side of the island (or they’re opting for a different island altogether)

Yes, the beach clubs are still there. So are the glamorous hotels, DJ sets, and lively evenings. But more and more travellers are asking where they can slow down a little, spend time on the water, explore beyond Chora, and experience Mykonos at a gentler pace.

That seems to be exactly where Four Seasons is positioning itself, and perhaps it’s going to breathe a little new life into the island in the process.

Set above Kalo Livadi Bay, the new resort has been designed to feel more like a traditional Cycladic village than a large hotel, with stone pathways, courtyards, gardens, and uninterrupted sea views throughout. There’s even a private jetty for arriving by boat – never a bad way to start a Greek island holiday.

We’re really looking forward to seeing how they emphasise local experiences. From helping guests uncover quieter corners of the island to creating bespoke excursions across the Cyclades, Four Seasons appears to be leaning into the side of Mykonos that many repeat visitors discover only after several trips.

Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel, Venice – Opening August 2026

Venice feels like a natural fit for Four Seasons. The brand has always done particularly well with historic buildings, and there aren’t many hotel addresses more recognisable than the Danieli. Sitting directly on the waterfront beside St Mark’s Square, it’s been one of the city’s best-known hotels for decades.

From what we’ve seen so far, Four Seasons isn’t looking to dramatically reinvent the property. Instead, the focus appears to be on enhancing the guest experience while preserving the character that has made the hotel such a fixture of Venice over the years.

Alongside the rooftop dining, restored interiors, and lagoon-facing suites, the experiences being developed look particularly promising. Think private visits to hidden Venetian gardens, time with Murano glassmakers and Burano lace artisans, sunset cruises aboard traditional fishing boats, and introductions to the people who still shape daily life in Venice. The Danieli Spa will also open later in the year and promises to bring a much-needed dose of wellness to Venice.

For anyone planning Italy in 2026, this will be an interesting one to watch. Venice remains one of Europe’s most rewarding city breaks when done properly, particularly when paired with a few days elsewhere in the Veneto, the Dolomites, or along the Italian lakes.

The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel, Switzerland – Opening Late 2026

Switzerland remains one of those destinations that never really falls out of favour. While places like St Moritz and Verbier often grab the headlines, Gstaad has built a reputation for doing things a little differently – less flashy, more understated, and beautiful throughout the year.

Four Seasons announced plans to take over The Park Gstaad in 2024, with the hotel set to reopen in late 2026 for the 26/27 winter ski season following a significant renovation. Details remain relatively limited for now, but the project will mark the brand’s first hotel in Switzerland.

Whilst skiing remains a major draw, Gstaad has increasingly become a year-round destination, with visitors arriving for everything from hiking and mountain biking to wellness retreats and long weekends in the fresh Alpine air.

Four Seasons Resort & Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia – Opening 2027

Long before a Four Seasons hotel was announced here, the team behind Tropicalia had already spent years investing in the surrounding region through education, environmental programmes, entrepreneurship initiatives, and community development projects. In many ways, the resort is the final piece of a much bigger vision.

Set on Playa Esmeralda along the shores of Samaná Bay, the project is introducing many travellers to a quieter corner of the Dominican Republic. This is a landscape of coconut plantations, mangroves, protected coastlines, and seasonal whale migrations – a world away from the image many people still have of the country.

When it opens, the resort will offer access to some of the region’s most remarkable experiences, from exploring Los Haitises National Park to observing sea turtles and humpback whales in their natural habitat. Sustainability is woven throughout the plans too, with ambitious environmental targets, low-density development, and a long-term commitment to preserving the surrounding ecosystem.

Four Seasons Resort & Residences Caye Chapel, Belize – Opening 2027

Belize has always occupied an interesting position in the Caribbean. While many travellers head for the region’s better-known islands, Belize offers something quite different – rainforests, Mayan ruins, world-class diving, and access to the largest barrier reef in the northern hemisphere.

Four Seasons first announced plans for Caye Chapel back in 2018, with the private island development set to bring the brand to Belize for the first time. Located just offshore from Belize City, the island sits alongside the Belize Barrier Reef and will combine guest accommodation, private residences, overwater bungalows, a marina, and an 18-hole golf course.

What stands out most is the emphasis on the surrounding environment. Plans include a conservation and education centre developed in partnership with Fabien Cousteau, alongside opportunities for guests to engage with marine research, coral restoration initiatives, snorkelling, diving, and wider exploration of Belize’s remarkable coastline.

Four Seasons Hotel Luxor, Egypt – Opening 2027

Egypt has enjoyed something of a renaissance in recent years, with renewed interest in everything from Nile cruises and desert adventures to the country’s extraordinary collection of historic hotels.

Announced in 2022, Four Seasons Hotel Luxor will bring the brand to one of Egypt’s most compelling destinations. Set on the banks of the Nile, just south of Luxor Temple, the hotel will feature 200 rooms and suites overlooking the river, the Valley of the Kings, and the Valley of the Queens.

What makes the project particularly appealing is how naturally it fits into a wider Egyptian itinerary. A few days exploring Luxor’s temples and archaeological sites pairs beautifully with a luxury Nile cruise, allowing travellers to experience the river much as it has been travelled for thousands of years. Add Cairo and perhaps a few days on the Red Sea afterwards, and you have one of the most rewarding journeys anywhere in the world.

Four Seasons Resort Zanzibar, Tanzania – Opening 2027

Ask almost any safari specialist how they’d finish a trip through Tanzania, and Zanzibar will usually feature somewhere in the conversation.

Four Seasons clearly agrees. Announced in 2024, the resort will become the brand’s second property in Tanzania, complementing the much-loved Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti with a very different experience on the island’s east coast.

Set on the white sands of Pongwe, the new resort will comprise just 60 private villas overlooking the Indian Ocean, alongside a strong focus on conservation and community engagement. Plans include a dedicated Discovery Centre staffed by on-site conservationists, helping guests better understand the island’s wildlife, ecosystems, and environmental challenges.

Zanzibar itself remains one of East Africa’s most fascinating destinations. Beyond the beaches, there are spice farms, dhow cruises, exceptional diving, and the labyrinthine streets of Stone Town, where African, Arab, Indian, and European influences have been colliding for centuries.

Four Seasons Resort & Private Residences Okinawa, Japan – Opening 2027

Most first-time visitors to Japan follow a fairly familiar route: Tokyo, Kyoto, perhaps Osaka, and increasingly a few days in the mountains or on the ski slopes.

Then there’s Okinawa.

Closer to Taiwan than Tokyo, the archipelago has its own culture, cuisine, pace of life, and some of the most beautiful coastline in the country. It’s the sort of place people tend to discover on their second or third trip to Japan rather than their first.

First announced back in 2019, Four Seasons Resort Okinawa has been a long time coming. Plans include a low-density beachfront resort spread across 100 acres on the island’s western coast, with architecture by Kengo Kuma and a design philosophy centred around Okinawan culture and the natural landscape. The emphasis appears to be firmly on space, nature, and a slower way of experiencing Japan.

Four Seasons Resort & Residences Porto Heli, Greece – Opening Mid 2028

Mention Porto Heli to most international travellers and you’ll probably be met with a blank stare. Mention it to someone from Athens and the reaction is often very different.

Set on the Argolic Gulf in the Peloponnese, Porto Heli has built a reputation as one of Greece’s most sought-after summer destinations. The beaches are beautiful, the sailing is excellent, and islands such as Spetses and Hydra sit just offshore. Yet somehow it still feels a little more relaxed than many of the Cyclades.

Announced in late 2024, Four Seasons plans to redevelop the existing beachfront estate at Hinitsa Bay into an 80-room resort with 30 bungalows, extensive wellness facilities, and a collection of branded residences. The project will occupy more than three kilometres of coastline overlooking the bay and neighbouring Spetses.

What appeals to us most is the location. From Porto Heli, it’s easy to spend your days bouncing between islands, discovering quiet coves by boat, exploring the historic streets of Nafplio, or visiting the ancient theatre of Epidaurus. We’re sure private yacht charters and day trips will feature heavily in the experience here, but we’d encourage guests to spend some time exploring the wider Peloponnese too – one of Greece’s most rewarding and often overlooked regions.

Four Seasons Hotel Sevilla, Spain – Opening 2028

Announced in June 2026, Four Seasons Hotel Sevilla will bring the brand to Andalucía’s capital for the first time.

The project will see a landmark building on Plaza Nueva transformed into an intimate 55-room hotel, complete with a rooftop pool, spa, and several dining venues overlooking the city. Its location places guests within easy walking distance of the Alcázar, Cathedral, and some of Sevilla’s best restaurants, bars, and neighbourhoods.

What makes the announcement particularly interesting is the destination itself. Despite attracting millions of visitors every year, Sevilla has remained relatively underserved at the ultra-luxury end of the market, especially when compared to Madrid, Barcelona, or Mallorca.

That’s always felt slightly surprising to us. Few cities combine history, architecture, food, culture, and year-round sunshine quite as effortlessly as Sevilla. It’s also one of the best bases from which to explore wider Andalucía, whether that’s Jerez, Córdoba, Cádiz, or the white villages scattered throughout the region.

For anyone planning Spain beyond the usual Madrid-Barcelona circuit, this is a very welcome addition.
