The reopening of Aman Sveti Stefan earlier this week felt like more than just another hotel returning to business. It also felt like the perfect moment to take a closer look at Aman’s new hotel openings, from the beaches of Baja California to the mountains of Japan.
For five years, one of Europe’s most iconic luxury retreats sat quietly on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, its medieval island closed to guests while negotiations over public access and the future of the property played out behind the scenes. Its return marks the end of a chapter that many wondered would ever close, and the reappearance of a hotel that has long held almost mythical status among Aman devotees.
It also got us thinking about Aman itself.
Few hotel brands inspire quite the same loyalty. Founded in 1988 with Amanpuri, Aman has never been interested in growing quickly or following trends. Instead, it has built a collection of extraordinary hotels that feel deeply connected to their surroundings. Whether that’s a restored Venetian palazzo, a desert hideaway in Utah, or a contemporary sanctuary in the heart of Manhattan. Each property is entirely its own, yet unmistakably Aman.
Earlier this year, Jonas experienced that philosophy first-hand at Aman New York. You can read his full review here.
While the reopening of Aman Sveti Stefan prompted this article, it’s far from the only reason they caught our attention. With a remarkable pipeline taking shape over the coming years, it’s the perfect time to take a closer look at Aman’s new openings.
With that in mind, we thought it was the perfect time to look at what lies ahead.
Aman Sveti Stefan, Montenegro – Reopened July 1st 2026

Few hotel reopenings have been as eagerly anticipated as Aman Sveti Stefan. After a five-year closure, the legendary resort has finally welcomed guests back to one of Europe’s most recognisable hotel addresses, following the resolution of a long-running dispute over public beach access. For many, its return marks one of the most significant moments in luxury travel this year.
Unlike almost anywhere else in the world, Aman Sveti Stefan isn’t simply a hotel overlooking the sea – it is the destination.
Set within a beautifully restored 15th-century fortified island village, Aman Sveti Stefan is unlike anywhere else in Europe. Connected to Montenegro’s mainland by a narrow causeway, the resort occupies a maze of hand-restored stone cottages, winding cobbled lanes and hidden courtyards. All brought together with Aman’s characteristically understated design.
Across the bay sits Villa Miločer, the former summer residence of Queen Marija Karađorđević. Today, it offers just eight exclusive suites overlooking the Adriatic.
Guests can once again enjoy the expansive Aman Spa, multiple restaurants and bars, and the resort’s spectacular beaches. It is also a wonderful base to explore Montenegro’s increasingly exciting coastline. For anyone who has followed the story of Sveti Stefan over the past five years, this is far more than a reopening; it’s the return of one of Europe’s true luxury icons.
Amanvari, Mexico – Opening August 2026

Aman’s long-awaited Mexico debut is almost here. Opening on Baja’s East Cape, Amanvari sits within Costa Palmas, where the Sea of Cortés, desert and farmland meet in one of the country’s most compelling coastal landscapes. Aman is now promoting an Opening Exclusive for stays from 1–31 August 2026, making this the next major arrival in the brand’s pipeline.
The resort will be deliberately small, with just 18 casitas positioned above the landscape, along the estuary and directly on the sand. Designed with open-air terraces, courtyards, picture windows and private pools, the architecture is less about showpiece glamour and more about dissolving the boundary between desert, sea and sky. It feels very Aman: remote, elemental and deeply controlled in its sense of privacy.
There will also be a strong wellness and slow-living element, with daily guided wellbeing experiences, a yoga pavilion, water sports, bicycles and personalised itinerary planning forming part of the opening offer. For travellers who already know Los Cabos but want something quieter, more rarefied and far removed from the usual resort scene, Amanvari looks set to be one of the most interesting openings of 2026.
Amancaya, The Bahamas – Opening 2026

Scattered across two secluded private cays in the Exumas, Amancaya will introduce Aman to one of the Caribbean’s most spectacular archipelagos. Meaning ‘peaceful island’ in the Taíno language, the development reflects everything the brand is known for: exceptional locations, low-density design and an unwavering sense of privacy. Surrounded by crystalline waters and pristine white-sand beaches, it promises an altogether more secluded take on a Bahamian escape.
Rather than creating a traditional resort, Aman is developing an intimate destination comprising just 36 pavilions alongside a limited collection of fully serviced residences. Guests will have access to a private marina, Beach Club, Aman Spa and a selection of dining venues spread across the two islands, all carefully positioned to immerse visitors in the surrounding landscape rather than compete with it. Sustainability has also been placed at the heart of the development, with plans for LEED certification and a masterplan designed to preserve the natural character of the cays.
As Aman’s first address in The Bahamas and its third in the Caribbean, following Amanera in the Dominican Republic and Amanyara in Turks & Caicos, Amancaya feels like a natural addition to the portfolio. For travellers drawn to quieter corners of the Caribbean, it’s certainly one we’ll be keeping a close eye on.
Aman Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Opening 2027

There are few places where Aman could make a greater statement than Dubai. Known for its pace and ever-evolving skyline, the city might seem an unlikely home for the brand’s understated philosophy, yet the forthcoming Aman Dubai promises exactly that: a calm, low-density retreat tucked away on the exclusive Jumeirah Peninsula.
The timing also feels particularly exciting. Following the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office’s recent decision to lift its advice against all but essential travel to the UAE, interest in the destination is once again gathering momentum. We recently explored what the updated guidance means for travellers in our latest UAE travel update, available here.
Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the development will combine an intimate hotel with a limited collection of branded residences, all centred around the largest Aman Club ever created. Wellness sits firmly at the heart of the project, with an expansive spa, movement studios, indoor padel courts, outdoor tennis courts and thoughtfully designed social spaces reserved for members and guests. Throughout, the architecture embraces natural materials, generous proportions and seamless indoor-outdoor living – a signature Aman approach that feels worlds away from Dubai’s more theatrical luxury offerings.
While Dubai is no stranger to luxury hotels, Aman isn’t trying to compete on scale or spectacle. Instead, the focus is on privacy, generous space and thoughtful design, creating a sanctuary that feels remarkably removed from the energy of the city beyond.
Aman Miami Beach, United States – Opening 2027

Some hotel openings are about creating something entirely new. Aman Miami Beach begins with restoring a landmark. Set within the historic Versailles building in the heart of the Faena District, the project will breathe new life into one of Miami Beach’s most recognisable mid-century hotels, pairing its carefully preserved heritage with Aman’s unmistakably understated approach to luxury.
Alongside the hotel, Aman will introduce a limited collection of branded residences, all designed to blur the line between indoor and outdoor living with expansive terraces, lush gardens and uninterrupted views across the Atlantic. Guests can also expect the brand’s signature wellness offering, multiple dining concepts and direct access to one of Miami Beach’s most coveted stretches of sand, all while retaining the sense of privacy that has become synonymous with an Aman stay.
While Miami has no shortage of glamorous hotels, Aman is taking a markedly different approach. Rather than competing with the city’s high-energy social scene, the focus is on creating a peaceful retreat where guests can retreat from the buzz of South Beach without ever feeling removed from it. For Aman devotees, it’s one of the most exciting hotel openings on the horizon – and a compelling new reason to revisit one of Florida’s most iconic destinations.
Aman Maldives, Vaavu Atoll – Opening 2027

For years, we’ve wondered when Aman would finally make its move into the Maldives. In 2027, that question is finally answered as the brand brings its unmistakable approach to one of the world’s most coveted island destinations.
Set within the remote Vaavu Atoll, the resort promises the kind of castaway experience that feels increasingly rare in the Maldives. Expect 52 pool pavilions, a collection of private residences, a dedicated spa island, exceptional diving and snorkelling, and endless shades of turquoise in every direction.
For us, this is one of the most exciting openings in Aman’s pipeline. Not because the Maldives is short of exceptional hotels, but because the brand has taken its time. Rather than rushing into one of luxury travel’s most competitive destinations, Aman has waited until it found a setting that genuinely reflects its ethos. If the early details are anything to go by, the wait will have been more than worthwhile.
Aman Beverly Hills, United States – Opening 2028

In a city where bigger often means better, Aman Beverly Hills is taking a different approach. Occupying a secluded corner of the landmark One Beverly Hills development, the hotel will be surrounded by more than eight acres of botanical gardens, creating an unexpected sense of calm just moments from Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard.
The project brings together an Aman hotel, private residences and an Aman Club, all woven into a landscape designed to feel more like a lush urban estate than a traditional luxury development. Walking paths meander through Californian planting, water features and quiet garden spaces, while wellness, dining and beautifully considered public areas encourage guests to spend as much time outdoors as they do inside.
We’ve always loved the contrast of Beverly Hills – palm-lined streets, grand estates and some of Los Angeles’ best shopping and dining, all within easy reach of the coast. Aman feels like a natural addition to that story, offering a quieter side of the neighbourhood while remaining perfectly placed to explore everything the city has to offer.
Aman Singapore – Opening 2028

It always felt like a matter of time before Aman arrived in Singapore. As one of Asia’s great gateway cities, it’s long been the starting point for journeys to many of the brand’s iconic resorts, from Cambodia and Laos to Thailand, Indonesia and beyond. Now, Aman is finally giving travellers a reason to linger a little longer.
Occupying the upper levels of The Skywaters, set to become Singapore’s tallest building, Aman Singapore will bring together a hotel, a limited collection of branded residences and the brand’s private Aman Club. Guests can expect some of the city’s largest hotel suites, a full-floor Aman Spa with an infinity-edge pool, and sweeping views across Marina Bay, the South China Sea and Singapore’s famous green skyline.
What excites us most, however, is the location itself. Singapore has evolved into one of Asia’s most rewarding stopover destinations, where world-class dining, remarkable architecture and lush green spaces sit within easy reach of one another. For anyone travelling onwards to the Maldives, Bali or Thailand, Aman Singapore feels like the perfect excuse to turn a transit into a memorable stay.
Amansanu, Texas Hill Country, United States – Opening Date TBC

Texas Hill Country might not be the first place you’d expect to find an Aman, which is exactly why this announcement caught our attention. Less than 90 minutes from Austin, Amansanu introduces an entirely new chapter for the brand with its first-ever ranch-inspired retreat, set amongst rolling hills, limestone cliffs and winding creeks in one of America’s most beautiful natural landscapes.
Rather than recreating the classic Western ranch experience, Aman is reinterpreting it through its own lens. Guests will be able to explore the surrounding countryside on horseback from the brand’s first fully serviced stables, hike through the rugged terrain, unwind at an expansive spa and wellness centre set beside a natural creek, or simply enjoy the remarkable sense of space that defines the property. Standalone pavilions and a limited collection of residences will be thoughtfully positioned across the landscape, ensuring uninterrupted views in every direction.
We’ve always loved hotels that introduce us to destinations we may not have considered otherwise, and Amansanu feels like exactly that. It’s a reminder that some of America’s most rewarding landscapes lie well beyond its national parks and famous cities, and we’re fascinated to see how Aman brings its quietly luxurious approach to the heart of Texas.
Aman Karingani, Mozambique – Opening Date TBC

If there was ever a destination that felt destined for Aman, it’s the African bush. Aman Karingani marks the brand’s first-ever safari retreat, bringing its distinctive approach to hospitality to the 150,000-hectare Karingani Game Reserve in southern Mozambique, an extraordinary wilderness bordering South Africa’s iconic Kruger National Park.
Rather than creating a large-scale safari lodge, Aman is keeping things deliberately intimate, with just 30 standalone pavilions, each opening onto expansive decks with private pools and uninterrupted views across the reserve. At the heart of the retreat will be a central lodge, an Aman Spa, signature dining experiences and a small collection of branded residences, all carefully positioned to immerse guests in one of Africa’s most biodiverse landscapes. From open savannahs and rolling woodlands to seasonal wetlands, the reserve is home to an extraordinary variety of wildlife, making every game drive entirely unique.
Safari has long been home to some of the world’s greatest lodges, so we’re fascinated to see how Aman interprets the experience. With its emphasis on space, exceptional service and an unhurried connection to nature, Aman Karingani has all the makings of a remarkable addition to both the brand’s portfolio and Africa’s luxury travel scene.
Aman Niseko, Japan – Opening 2030

Still a few years from opening, Aman Niseko already feels like one of the most significant projects in the brand’s future pipeline. Set within a protected nature reserve overlooking Mount Yōtei, the resort will become Japan’s first destination wellness retreat in the mountains, bringing together the country’s celebrated ski culture with Aman’s thoughtful approach to wellbeing and design.
The development will comprise an Aman hotel, just 31 private residences and an expansive wellness centre, creating an intimate alpine retreat that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons. While Niseko is renowned for its exceptional powder snow each winter, the surrounding landscapes are equally compelling in summer, when hiking trails, volcanic hot springs and forests transform the region into one of Japan’s great outdoor destinations.
There’s another reason this project feels particularly significant. Aman Niseko was designed by the late Kerry Hill, the visionary architect whose work helped define the Aman aesthetic for decades. As one of his final projects for the brand, it promises to honour that legacy while introducing a new generation of travellers to one of Japan’s most extraordinary landscapes. It’s a fitting way to round off a pipeline that proves Aman is continuing to evolve without ever losing sight of what has made it so special.
Experience Aman with RASK Travel
The reopening of Aman Sveti Stefan may have prompted us to revisit the brand, but it also reminded us why Aman continues to occupy such a unique place in luxury travel. While many hotel groups are expanding at pace, Aman remains remarkably selective, opening in destinations that genuinely add something new to the portfolio rather than simply adding another pin to the map.
The good news is you don’t have to wait until 2027 or 2030 to experience it. Whether you’re drawn to the desert stillness of Amangiri, the quiet sophistication of Aman Tokyo, the vineyards surrounding Amanzoe, or Jonas’ recent stay at Aman New York, there are already extraordinary Aman experiences to discover today.
If one of these forthcoming openings has caught your eye – or you’re wondering which Aman is right for your next journey – we’d love to help. As an Aman preferred partner, we can arrange exclusive benefits at many existing properties, alongside expert, first-hand advice tailored to the way you like to travel. Get in touch, and we’ll help you find the Aman hotel that’s right for you.
